A goalkeeper model that goes beyond saves

25 metrics across four pillars: shot-stopping, distribution, sweeping and claiming, and off-ball positioning. Built from event data and tracking data together.

What you get

Deliverables

Goalkeeper profiles

One-page profiles that rank a keeper on all four pillars against a league peer group.

Goalkeeper recruitment

Shortlists for a specific type of keeper: a sweeper for a high line, a claimer for a team that defends crosses deep, or a distributor for build-up.

Shot-stopping

Goals prevented from post-shot expected goals, so saves are judged on shot difficulty, not volume.

Positioning from tracking

Sweeper depth, reaction speed after turnovers and positioning at corners, measured from tracking data.

Set-piece defending

How often corners against a keeper end in a shot, and how the keeper moves during the delivery.

Development reports

Season reports for your own goalkeepers, showing which areas changed and which did not.

How it works

Four pillars, one profile

Event data covers what a goalkeeper does with the ball. Tracking data adds what happens without it: how deep the keeper stands, how fast they react to a turnover and where they are when a cross is struck.

Each metric is ranked against qualifying goalkeepers in the same league, so a profile shows strengths and gaps at a glance.

Goalkeeper percentile profile across shot-stopping, distribution and off-ball pillars
A full goalkeeper profile: percentile ranks across shot-stopping and claiming, distribution, and off-ball sweeping.
Scatter of sweeper depth against transition reaction speed
Off-ball positioning from tracking data: sweeper depth in possession against reaction speed after a turnover.
Goals prevented leaderboard for Premier League goalkeepers
Shot-stopping measured as goals prevented per 90 from post-shot expected goals.
Scatter of aerial claims against sweeping actions
Two ways to defend space: aerial claims against sweeping actions, per 90.
